Principle of 960Mhz UHF RFID Card

May. 27, 2019

The working principle of 960Mhz UHF RFID Card is very simple: after the tag enters the magnetic field, the reader will sense the tag signal, the tag obtains energy through the radio frequency signal (passive tag or passive tag) or the tag actively transmits the signal of a certain frequency (active tag or Active tag), then the reader reads the electromagnetic waves and converts them into data, which is sent to the central information system for data processing.

Therefore, a complete RFID system consists of three parts: reader and electronic tag and application software system. From the point of view of the communication and sensing between the RFID card reader and the electronic tag, it can be roughly divided into two types: inductive coupling and electromagnetic wave coupling.

Inductive coupling is mainly applied to passive tags. Passive tags acquire signal energy through magnetic field induction. Because RFID chips support lower frequencies, the recognition distance is shorter, the recognition speed is as fast as 100 frames per second, and the implementation cost is low.

The electromagnetic wave coupling can be a passive tag or an active tag. Since the active tag supports the ultra-high frequency and microwave frequency bands and has its own power supply, the recognition distance and the recognition speed are farther and faster than the inductive coupling, and the implementation cost is relatively high. high.

Whether it is an active Low Frequency RFID Card system or a passive RFID system, the role is to identify goods and read data. However, the two types of RFID systems differ in signal strength, sensing range, and reading speed, and their respective supporting application scenarios are also different.
